Iowa County Ministerial Alliance Emergency Fund


1. Mission Statement for the ICMA Fund

           Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, as you did for the least of these my brothers (and sisters), you did for me.” Matthew 25:39-41.           

           Because Jesus said we are to care for one another, the churches of Iowa County maintain an emergency fund for qualifying residents of Iowa County.


2. Definition of Aid

This fund is to be used for emergency assistance only.  Included, but not limited to:

a. Rent deposit—$300, or half of the deposit, whichever is less.

b. Rent—$300, or half of rent, whichever is less.

c. Utility bills—up to $150.

d. Vehicle repairs—up to $150.

e. Other needs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.


3. Qualifications

a. Application does not guarantee assistance.

b. Individuals are asked to seek assistance from HACAP first.

c. Applicants must be legal residents of Iowa County.

d. Recipients cannot receive aid from this fund more than once in six months.

e. Assistance is paid directly to the vendor/creditor rather than the recipient.

f. Recipients will be screened on basis of need.
